We are delighted to announce that (what the editors have called) a 'Symposium' on F. R. Leavis: Critic, Teacher, Philosopher has just come out in Philosophy and Literature. Initial abstracts and front pages are available to all but accesssing the articles requires an academic subscription.We trust readers will agree that this a splendid current tribute to Leavis's thought and its continuing influence. We are exploring whether the editors will be able to offer a discounted price available to members of the Society. We will update members about this.

(year and date to be confirmed): a conference to be held at Mysore. A special Leavis edition of The Literary Criterion has been published (edited by Emily Holman). Details of how to order copies will follow shortly. The journal was founded more than 60 years ago by Professor C. D. Narasimhaiah (CDN), a former pupil of Leavis's, and continues under the general editorship of CDN's son, Professor C. N. Srinath.
